Components Of Camera

📸Parts of a camera whether it is a digital camera or a DSLR camera, these parts will be an inevitable thing without which a picture has no meaning.
Before starting photography, one should always know what is the basic functions of these parts which makes a camera work. Here we go : -

Body

A body of a camera is the most important and vital part. You can attach a number of accessories to this body like a zoom lens, microphone, tripod, connector. These are in various size and is the heaviest part of the camera. A camera body may be of different sizes depending on what type of camera it is. A point and shoot camera may be small in size and can easily fit into your pocket.

Components Of Camera

A DSLR is basically a huge and bulky thing to carry but results in a great picture. Nowadays, we have the evolution of DSLR which is called mirrorless cameras. There are light in weight and look smaller in size and also produces a great picture.
Components Of Camera

Lens

Components Of CameraThese are something we cannot miss. When we click photo a light enters through these lenses and this is where a photo process begins. The amount of light depends on the aperture we set which acts as a window and decides how much pf light is needed for a photo. The lens comes in various sizes and zoom lengths. It varies from a 35mm and can go up to 700mm. It depends on the camera whether the lens is fixed or interchangeable. Most of the DSLR comes with interchangeable so that you can take various kinds of shots. When you press the shutter button, the camera shutter opens and light comes through the lens aperture and hits the camera image sensor thus forming an image.

Shutter

Components Of CameraIn order to capture an image, this shutter needs to be opened so that light enters the image sensor. A shutter speed decides how long an image sensor should be open to allow light to hit the sensor to capture an image. A 1/60 shutter speed means the shutter will be open for one-sixtieth of a second. A 1/500 shutter speed will keep the shutter open for one five hundred of a second.

Aperture

An aperture is a diameter of a lens through which light passes and touches the image sensor. You can always adjust the aperture and is shown as  f/2.8 or f/3.5-5.6. This also determines how much your background is blurred compared to your object which is in focus. Smaller the f/stops the larger the lens is open to the light. Larger the f/stops means that smaller the lens is open to the light.

Image Sensor

Components Of CameraOnce you set the lens angle, aperture and shutter speed and then click on the camera button to click a picture. The light comes and reaches the image sensor which is then processed and stored in a memory card for us to view the final picture. The image sensor comprises a grid with millions of microscopic light information gathering elements called "photosites." Each photosite is called pixels

Optical View Finder

An optical viewfinder helps you focus on an object more precisely by looking at the viewfinder. When shooting using a viewfinder, external light is reduced. This helps you to pay full attention on the subject right before your eyes, which in turn makes it easier to track moving subjects.
Components Of CameraUsing a viewfinder, helps you save on your battery as you don't have to use your LCD screen so check the image. One drawback of a viewfinder is that you don't get options to see the final picture. If you want to see the final result you need to see on LCD screen as viewfinder does not process the image completely. It is only helpful for fixing focus and angle to shoot.

Hope this helps you in your photography career and understand the basics of the camera.

Happy Shooting!!
