There is no fixed time for photographers. They can be hired by a company or can be booked by a client for a photo shoot. They can even work as a freelancer or many of them can be self-employed. Let's see what career options are available.

Fine Art Photographer

Fine art photographers create photos with a vision of the photographer as an artist and using photography as a medium to express new ideas or to pass a message. It is done to express an idea, message or to create public awareness. They sell their work or photos to individuals, interior designers, advertisement companies, architects like banks and hotels. They can either sell their photos through online stock photography websites or contact clients directly.

Freelance Photographer

A Freelance Photographer is either a self-employed photographer or may work on a contract basis. As a freelance photographer, you need to market yourself through social media and websites, creating your own portfolios. These are hired or work on a contract basis for a wedding photoshoot, functions like birthday parties, sporting events, individual or a family photo shoot. Being a Freelance Photographer you can manage your own time and schedule your work and start earning money.

Photojournalist or News Photographers

A Photojournalist work for news channels as an employee to broadcast or record what's happening around in the country to show in the news channel. They are basically well versed in mass communication. They work with magazines, news channels, newspapers, journals, or other forms of media. These photographers have to travel to conflict places, record the situation or click pictures and then show the audience the current state. This is a very difficult job, as a photographer you have to visit different conflict places and click pictures sometimes interview with the conflict makers.

Fashion Photography

Fashion Photography is an art of photography to show clothing brands and other fashion items. They basically make portfolios of models, shoot for fashion magazines, advertisement companies. With its huge audience, high pay scales and shooting in different locations with models and experiencing a glamorous international lifestyle, this may seem to be the best job in the world. These photographers are well versed in fashion styles, moods, and the latest fashion trends.

Food Photography

A Food Photographer work with food manufacturers, hotels and restaurants and ice-cream companies. They basically click pictures in the kitchen or make a portfolio of food. Here, a photographer needs to learn the ways to style food for photos so that they present them in the best possible manner to the audience. Like Dominos which attracts people with its beautiful and delicious pizza photos.

Wildlife Photographers

Wildlife Photographers basically documents the life of animals and the environment in their natural habitat. This is one of the most difficult and tiring jobs as one has to have a lot of patience to capture wild animals in the jungle without disturbing them. There is no comparison with other kinds of photography. They work with environmentalists, government, or are self-employed to show different life forms of animals far from the human world.
